Mohr is the King of Dressage

Hans-Peter Mohr from Germany rode his nine-year-old Holstein stallion Lento to two victories in the first international show of the horse´s career. He scored 70.20 % in the Grand Prix freestyle and won the Grand Prix with 65, 91. Second in the Tapiola International Dressage Kür Final was Charlotte Esping with Generalen from Sweden on 64.45%. Julia Alfthan-Kilpeläinen and Chirocco with 63.55 % was the best home and took third place.“My horse was absolutely fantastic, he is only nine years old and now he won his first ever two international Grand Prix classes. He has got world class piaffe and passage, but there obviously is a lot to learn, too.

He has been placed in about 15 national Grand Prix shows but I had to travel this far to win. I am so proud of him” said Mohr. Mohr has ridden the horse since he was four and told that he is very quick to learn and finds the movements easy.
The best home rider Mrs. Alfthan-Kilpeläinen was very happy with her horse and their third place. Chirocco was a joy to ride today. Only the pirouettes were difficult for us today. Yesterday he felt very tense, but he relaxed in a nice way today. I have also made my freestyle simpler and taken away the parts that were a bit too difficult for us” she said.
Unfortunately the five international judges had only six horses to judge.

The World Cup show in Denmark had attracted the dressage riders from the northern parts of Europe. However, the President of the Helsinki Dressage Ground Jury Anders Sucksdorff said that the FEI had promised that there would not be a clash of dates next year.
